  22 Jan 08 FREELANCE ASSOCIATES WANTED

We are expanding our network of established freelance associates, to support future human factors- and training-related projects. Work could be conducted from home, at our offices in Hampshire and Somerset, or at client sites across southern and central England. Candidates should have relevant qualifications in ergonomics, psychology, systems engineering or an equivalent discipline, together with experience of working in consultancy and/or defence environments. Recently-retired military training and domain (e.g. C2, ISTAR, NEC) specialists are also of potential interest. Current SC clearance is desirable for all roles.   12 Jan 08 NETWORK ENABLED CAPABILITY

We have been awarded a contract by Roke Manor Research (A Siemens company) to assess the impact of Network Enabled Capability (NEC) interventions on the Training Defence Line of Development (Training DLoD). Work will include creation of a Training Impact Assessment Methodology (TIAM) to quantify the predicted effects of technology- or equipment-oriented interventions on the Training DLoD. This 'impact' might result in, for example, increased initial or refresher training costs, increased training risks etc. Contract options include the implementation and validation of the TIAM.
